Dean Ruddock
Dean Ruddock wurde als Ergebnis verschiedener Migrationsbewegungen in Paderborn geboren.
Er schreibt Lyrik, Spoken Word und Prosa, macht Klangkunst, Musik und Kurzfilme; außerdem ist er Kurator und Medienkünstler.
Sein Fokus ist der Transfer von Texten in andere Medien, aber auch die Kreuzung von gesellschaftspolitischen Fragen und künstlerischen Perspektiven auf diese. Besondere Beachtung finden dabei postmigrantische und postkoloniale Themen.
Sein Poesiefilm „Vögel auf Stromleitungen“ wurde 2016 mit dem Publikumspreis des ZEBRA-Poesiefilmfestivals 2016 prämiert.
Seit 2018 ist Dean Ruddock Teil des Corporeal Poetry Collectives, das an der Schnittstelle von Tanz und Poesie experimentiert und forscht. Ergebnisse dieser Zusammenarbeit wurden beim poesiefestival Berlin und mehrfach im Center for Literature gezeigt.
2021 belegte er gemeinsam mit Cäcilie Willkommen und dem Hörspiel „Vorschlag einer Struktur“ den ersten Platz im Manuskriptwettbewerb des Leipziger Hörspielsommers.
2022 veröffentlichte er seine Kurzgeschichte „pareidolie“ in der von Sharon Dodua Otoo herausgegebenen Anthologie Resonanzen.
Im selben Jahr war er Teil des Kurator*innen-Teams von Poetry in New Spaces.
Zuletzt arbeitete er zu seinen Schwerpunkten Migration und Erinnerung im Rahmen der Ausstellung Re-Connect. Kunst und Kampf im Bruderland. mit dem Museum für bildende Künste in Leipzig zusammen.
Er ist Teil der AG Spoken Word des Netzwerk Lyrik und der Initiative Postmigrantisches Radio.

Dean Ruddock
Dean Ruddock was born in Paderborn as a result of various migration movements.
He writes poetry, spoken word and prose, makes sound art, music and short films; he is also a curator and media artist.
His focus is the transfer of texts into other media, but also the intersection of socio-political issues and artistic perspectives on these. He pays particular attention to post-migrant and post-colonial themes.
His poetry film „Birds on Power Lines“ was awarded the Audience Award at the ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival 2016.
Since 2018, Dean Ruddock has been part of the Corporeal Poetry Collective, which experiments and researches at the interface of dance and poetry. The results of this collaboration have been shown at the poesiefestival Berlin and several times at the Center for Literature.
In 2021, together with Cäcilie Willkommen and the radio play „Vorschlag einer Struktur“, he won first place in the manuscript competition of the Leipzig Radio Play Summer.
In 2022, he published his short story „pareidolie“ in the anthology Resonanzen, edited by Sharon Dodua Otoo.
In the same year, he was part of the curatorial team of Poetry in New Spaces.
Most recently, he worked on his focus areas of migration and memory as part of the exhibition Re-Connect. Kunst und Kampf im Bruderland. with the Museum für bildende Künste in Leipzig.
He is part of the Spoken Word working group of Netzwerk Lyrik and the Postmigrantisches Radio initiative.
